The awards recognised the top entrants in four categories:
Outstanding Support of Future Artisans
Prize*: £1,500 plus a selection of whiskies from The Balvenie and a specially commissioned trophy.
Artisan Apprentice of the Year
Prize*: £2,000 (to be put towards training/development) plus a selection of whiskies from The Balvenie and a specially commissioned trophy.
Top Accolade : Artisan of the Year
Prize*: £4,000 plus a bottle of The Balvenie Thirty – an exquisite, rare single malt worth £250 and a specially commissioned trophy.
* The runner-up in each category received a certificate and bottle of The Balvenie Signature 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
Entries were judged by the Editor of Country Living Magazine Susy Smith, The Balvenie Distillery, David Lammy (Minister for Skills) and Steven Laing a previous winner of the Artisan of the Year accolade.
